Kennedy Ashley Waymer was a passionate and dedicated student-athlete who combined academic excellence with athletic determination. Born in Columbia, South Carolina, and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Kennedy began playing softball at a young age and quickly became known for her discipline, leadership, and love of sports—not only softball, but also volleyball, basketball, and flag football.
Kennedy was recognized as the 2023–2024 1010XL Scholar-Athlete for Paxon School for Advanced Studies. A distinguished member of the varsity basketball team from 2020 to 2024, Kennedy demonstrated exceptional leadership as team captain, guiding her teammates with integrity and determination. She was also recognized by News4Jax as an All-Star Athlete of the Week on several occasions, highlighting her remarkable skill, dedication, and sportsmanship both on and off the basketball court and softball field.
In 2023, she earned the title of District Champion and was selected as a Gateway All-Conference Honoree for three consecutive years from 2022 through 2024. Kennedy also received the Highest GPA Basketball All-Conference Award, exemplifying her commitment to both academic and athletic excellence.
In her senior year, she was named Most Athletic of the Class of 2024 and achieved the distinction of Gateway Conference Champion, a reflection of her outstanding talent, perseverance, and dedication to excellence in every endeavor.
While Kennedy excelled in every sport she played, her greatest passion was softball. She showcased her exceptional athleticism as a left-handed batter and pitcher, center fielder, and secondary first baseman for the Tampa Mustangs, the Paxon Eagles, and the College of Coastal Georgia.

Kennedy Ashley Waymer was born to Ronald and Sandra Waymer on January 9, 2006, in Columbia, South Carolina.
In August 2019, Kennedy’s life was dedicated to Christ when she was baptized at Morris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Barnwell, South Carolina.
In January 2025, Kennedy became a member of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, where she faithfully served as a member of the Usher Board.
Kennedy excelled academically as an International Baccalaureate Honor Graduate of Paxon School for Advanced Studies. She graduated *Summa Cum Laude* with the Class of 2024 and was recognized as a Golden Eagle Ambassador and Senior Class Historian Officer. Kennedy was also honored as a member of Mu Alpha Theta, the Science National Honor Society, and the National Honor Society, and she received the Gold Seal of Biliteracy.
Kennedy continued her academic journey at the College of Coastal Georgia, where she began her studies in Engineering in August 2024 and played collegiate softball. Her dedication and hard work earned her the distinction of being named to the President’s List for both semesters.
